Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator QCF is accredited and currently sits on the Qualifications Credit Framework QCF. It is supported by Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for Health and aligns with the requirements set by the HSE. This accredited qualification is ideal for those who require further training or are looking to develop their knowledge and/or skills in this subject area. It is recommended as training for first aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator. This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit, which learners must complete successfully in order to achieve the qualification. This is as follows:

How is this Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator QCF qualification delivered?

Practical demonstration: This is completed throughout the course. Learners must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit.

Oral examination: This will be completed via ongoing questioning with learners on the course. This will require learners to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in a number of first aid related areas.

Level 2 Award in CPR and AED QCF – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator Certification:

All successful students will be issued with a CPR and AED Certificate. This Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator QCF qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, at which point learners will need to re-sit the course. However, the recommendation is that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
