COURSE OVERVIEW

SMARTT North East is an Educational Training Provider on the Register of Training Organisations (RoTO). We are a team of highly experienced trainers, of ex service personnel, with a vision and local enterprise to secure and organically grow the regions hidden military talent and bring to the fore of local business.

Our staff are fully qualified and hold specialist qualifications and a wide scope of expertise ranging from, Higher and further Education, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), to Health & Safety Executive (HSE)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD), is a common acronym used in civilian life and one that’s used by many organisations as a temptress to the ultimate vocation, but an acronym that can come across quite alien to service or ex-service personnel. We know that CPD is what drives our forces candidates to continually achieve whilst serving but it can be an unforgiving obstacle when presenting yourself at a civilian company.

What is recognised as a great achievement to the Military may somewhat be clouded by the commercial world. Our role is to support this transition and lack of understanding in the civilian world.

CURRICULUM

At SMARTT North East, we fully understand the transition from military to civilian life as we have experienced it first hand and know the needs of military personnel. This is achieved through us using the application of our knowledge, field skills, and military expertise and core life skills in all that we deliver.

We put the learners at the centre of our delivery as it is all about them achieving their goals and aspirations, we are just the mechanism supporting this. Additionally, we also support other businesses (from SME to Corporate) in recruiting and training staff.

With a combination of 100 years or more within the military, blended with both a combatant and non-combatant roles from Light Infantry to Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, we have personnel that can relate to most experiences given by serving and ex-service personnel.

Those individuals on the verge of the transition to civilian life can face the most daunting experience. Our bank of staff personnel, have an extensive range of skills from a diverse and mixed experience background to help service personnel into progression for civilian life and work.

We want the very best for our armed forces colleagues and give them the best possible start to their new civilian career. We offer a wide range of route-ways that is cross-cutting providing a range of outreach opportunities that span the key areas of employability and self-employment.

Our route-ways for our Armed Forces Resettlement are unique in itself as it can purposely be tailored to the individual needs, for example; we can mix and match various qualification to suit the needs of the individual.

Train the Trainer Health & Safety Compliance Course

Our Compliance Training in Health & Safety course has been specifically designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the teaching or training industry and becoming a tutor/trainer.

It will allow individuals to be fully qualified and equip to deliver a wide range of Health & Safety qualifications;

This course is perfect for anyone wanting to teach and deliver accredited and non-accredited qualifications – this can be either as running your own business as self-employed or for a training company.

The qualifications you will achieve on this course include:

Level 3 Education and Training
Level 3 Health & Safety in the Workplace
Level 3 First Aid at Work
Level 3 Food Safety
Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health
Level 2 Fire Safety
Level 2 Customer Service

As part of our added value, we will incorporate General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Safeguarding training.

Cost = £1100 per person – VAT Inclusive

Duration = 8 days. The course will run Monday – Thursday over 2 weeks

Pre-course resources = None required, a comprehensive training package will be issued at the start of the course. Please note that this course is intensive and will need individuals to compete work outside of classroom time

On completion of all our courses, individual will be given access to a huge bank of risk assessments, lesson plans, training resources and much more in relation to the qualifications they have competed

Train the Trainer Hospitality and Catering Course

Our Compliance Training in Hospitality and Catering course has been specifically designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the teaching or training industry and becoming a tutor/trainer.

It will allow individuals to be fully qualified and equip to deliver a wide range of Hospitality and Catering, including Health & Safety qualifications;

The qualifications you will achieve on this course include:

Level 3 Education and Training
Level 3 Health & Safety in the Workplace
Level 3 First Aid at Work
Level 2 Personal Licensing Holder
Level 2 Food Safety
Level 2 Fire Safety

Can any of the Health & Safety Compliance Training be exchanged for other Health & Safety qualifications?

Yes, the course can be tailored to your own needs – please see here the range of courses we offer and you can take.

What if I already have the level 3 Education and Training or don’t want to do it and only do the Health & Safety Compliance Training?

That’s perfectly fine, you can do other courses instead of the EAT

I don’t really want to be a Tutor / instructor so can I complete the health and safety courses only to be qualified in health and safety ready for employment in my chosen sector?

Yes, you can do the health and safety courses only. Theses courses are excellent sector skills qualifications which is a mandatory requirement in any sector under the health and safety at work act.
