Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF
Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace. This 6 hour course is designed to train candidates in both theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid to the standard required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Employers have a choice between this course and the First Aid at Work 3 day course
How is this Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF Qualification Structured?
This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit, which learners must complete successfully in order to achieve the qualification
How is this Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF qualification delivered?
It is recommended that the qualification should operate on a ratio of (a maximum of) 12 learners to 1 tutor and the qualification has a minimum of 8 guided learning hours. The minimum contact hours of this qualification, excluding breaks, should be for a minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day.
Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work QCF Syllabus
Arrange of subjects is covered including:
• Incident Management responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Shock (including Anaphylaxis) • Control of bleeding • Resuscitation CPR • Bandaging • Heart attacks • Choking • Minor injuries • Head to toe survey
How is the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF qualification assessed?
Practical demonstration! This ongoing assessment will involve learners demonstrating practical first aid skills across a number of areas.
Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF Oral Examination. This will be completed via ongoing questioning with learners on the course and will require learners to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in a number of first aid related areas.
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work QCF Certification:
All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card. This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, at which point learners will need to re-sit the course. However the recommendation is that learners refresh their knowledge annually. (Previously HSE)
