At SMARTT North East, we believe that everyone should have access to the skills and the knowledge they need to make the most of their potential to succeed in employment. Our employability courses range from the award, certificate and the diploma in Employability and are qualifications that help individuals develop key personal skills, qualities and attitudes required by employers and make progress in education. Our courses has many practical, engaging and fun tasks to help students plan and review their learning, work in teams, solve problems and explore entrepreneurship.
All our Employability Skills Development course take an activity-based approach, this includes Problem Solving, Working In Team and Improvising Own Learning to raising learners awareness about employer expectations and the real life working environment
With new government changes to the Modern Apprentice Standards specification and the introduction of Functional Skills and PLTS (Personal Learning and Thinking Skills) framework, understanding the criteria your apprentices need to meet can be demanding.
SMARTT North East can work with groups and their academic partners to allow learners to meet the required standards to successfully complete their apprenticeship or work place. A vocational qualification in English or Maths (Function Skills) at a particular level carries the equivalent of GCSE at or above grade C, the qualification could help individuals to gain the skills they need to enter a particular apprenticeship or work environment.
SMARTT North East is an Educational Training Provider – We are a team of highly experienced trainers, mainly ex service personnel. Since 2001 we have been delivering a number of highly successful long and short Vocational courses for schools, businesses and organisations across the North of England. We include a dedicated team of consultants and support staff, who are able not just in identifying those trades that will be the best fit for learners requirements, but will track and follow individuals though thier learning jorney
Our employability courses are unique and have been designed to be delivered as a series of physical and mental challenges – often using our expertise in the outdoors and “out of classroom learning”. These will suit individuals who struggle to achieve their ideal learning experience in the classroom.

All our Employability courses is a nationally recognised qualification, fully approved by Ofqual in England and by the relevant regulatory bodies for use in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
